My approach to perimenopause and menopause care
Perimenopause and menopause affect every woman differently. My approach to menopause care is structured and evidence-based, and centred around careful listening and clear medical guidance.
Here’s what you can expect
Step 1
PRE-CONSULTATION BLOOD TESTS
Once you make contact, I arrange relevant blood tests. I review and interpret your results before we meet. This ensures your perimenopause or menopause consultation begins with preparation and context – no guesswork.
Step 2
A ONE-HOUR, IN-DEPTH CONSULTATION
Your first appointment is a full hour.
We explore your symptoms, health history, and concerns in detail – recognising that perimenopause and menopause can present in many different ways, some expected and others less obvious.
This is unhurried, specialist menopause care – not a rushed GP visit.
Step 3
INTERPRETING THE FULL PICTURE
Blood tests are valuable, but they are only one part of the story.
I consider your laboratory results alongside your lived experience to understand where you are in your perimenopause or menopause journey.
As both a menopause specialist and a clinical pathologist, I approach this thoughtfully, taking both the medical evidence and your individual experience into account.
Step 4
PERSONALISED, EVIDENCE BASED TREATMENT
Together, we agree on the most appropriate care plan. This may include:
-
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) where appropriate
-
Symptom-specific medical management
-
Lifestyle and sleep guidance
-
Further investigations if needed
All decisions are made collaboratively with you and grounded in current menopause research and evidence-based medicine.
Step 5
ONGOING REVIEW AND FOLLOW UP
Menopause care is not static.
Follow up consultations allow us to review your progress, monitor your response to treatment, and adjust your plan as needed. Your care evolves with you.
